Neighborhood Cleanup 4-23-2016

Saturday, April 23rd from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
It’s our day for the Annual Bloomington Cleanup Event. The Bryan Park Neighborhood was chosen as one of the neighborhoods participating in the event this year. The cleanup will take place in the parking lot of the Free Methodist Church on the corner of E. Grimes and S. Lincoln. They have graciously allowed us to use their large lot, in a more centralized location of the Bryan Park neighborhood, to help us organize the areas where the refuse can be staged and separated.

We encourage everyone to take advantage of this great opportunity to cleanup and clear out all of your unwanted stuff and take it to the church. However, if you are unable to bring items to the parking lot location and need them to be picked up from your home, prepare your refuse as you would for your regular trash/recycle day and leave it at the curb. Volunteers can assist those who are physically unable to carry large items to the curb. To arrange for a pick up at your house prior to the event on Saturday fill out the following: trash pick up form. The limit is one truckload per household.

Everything will go to the lot where it will be shredded or crunched with city supplied equipment. The chipped mulch will be moved to our community pile, at Davis and Palmer. We’ll have an area for older, but usable items such as bicycles, toys, games, furniture, etc. you may take. Anything left at the end of the cleanup day (1 pm) that can be repurposed, will be donated.

We could really use a few more able body volunteers,so if you’re available, please fill out the following: volunteer form. Let’s take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to beautify our amazing neighborhood where we love to live and play!
